Carol Black-Lemon has been a catalyst for community engagement through the arts. As the co-founder of a creative connection group in West Orange, NJ, she fostered a vibrant network of artists for several years. Upon relocating to Florence, SC, Carol recognized a similar need for artistic collaboration and took the initiative to establish Creative Connection of Florence, SC. In addition to this, Carol launched Artful Connections, a community workshop project aimed at sparking creativity and self-expression among young people and older adults. Through the use of collage and assemblage art as primary mediums, participants explore the historic and cultural significance of these forms. Artful Connections empowers individuals to delve into their identities, build meaningful relationships, and strengthen community bonds, enriching the lives of participants and their communities through imaginative and impactful art-based activities.
Creative Connection is a discussion group dedicated to fostering a nurturing environment that welcomes and inspires artists, musicians, poets, and creatives. We offer an opportunity for all to meet, exchange ideas, share creative journeys, experiences, and insights, thus cultivating artistic excellence.
